The week everyone dreams of as a child, Mikel Oyarzabal has spent it celebrating after scoring the winner in the Euro 2024 final against England for Spain. After celebrating in Madrid with the capital, Oyarzabal returned to his hometown of Eibar to see his family.
And go to his hairdresser. Oyarzabal visited his barber of many years, and when he was finished, he was met with warm welcome.

The Real Sociedad forward was greeted by flares, the sound of ‘Potra Salvaje’, the unofficial anthem of the Spain squad, and a banner saying ‘Congratulations Mikel, champion’ in Basque. As Oyarzabal climbed the hill to greet them, they began singing Mikel Oyarzabal.
As per Diario AS, the big ‘welcome home’ was organised by his childhood friends from Eibar, although he will also have a more official welcome home, with the mayor planning to wecome him at the town hall. It should erase any bitterness from a much more aggressive ‘welcome’ he and Mikel Merino were given on their return to Spain.
