Manchester United’s chief scout Robbie Cooke was at La Rosaleda to see Atletico Madrid beat Malaga, with Diego Costa the focus of his attention.
Atletico won the game through a Koke goal and Marca cites reports from the Daily Mail that the midfielder was another player Cooke was sent by David Moyes to watch.
Also coming under Cooke’s eye were a trio of players at Sunday’s Basque derby – Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera and Real Sociedad pair Inigo Martinez and Antoine Griezmann. United made a late move in the summer transfer window for Herrera, only for the deal to collapse.
The report claims Moyes is looking for new arrivals to bolster the champions’ squad after a disappointing start to the season.
