In his press conference after yesterday’s win over Osasuna, Carlo Ancelotti picked out 3 players for notable praise.
All have come at this season from very different places in their career, but they’ve each proven their worth.
Arda Guler is the rising star wonderkid, with the world at his feet. In quotes picked up by Marca, Ancelotti called him a “great talent” and noted that only a player of his ability could do what he did when he came within inches of scoring from the halfway line.
Brahim Diaz was once a wonderkid in a similar vein, but his career seemed to be drifting off course a little until his integration into Madrid’s plans this season. Ancelotti praised his versatility and explained how his mobility gave Madrid a lot, and “made things hard for [their] opposition.”
Then comes Andriy Lunin. He’s had to work his way back from some tough moments even as recently as the last few months, but he’s now a player who “gives the team confidence,” according to his coach.
As you’d expect from the man management master himself, Carlo has dealt with each case perfectly, and is now reaping the rewards.
