Spain have been crowned as European champions for the first time since 2012 as they sealed an incredible win over England in Berlin.
La Roja were forced to dig deep in the closing stages to produce a brilliant victory in the German capital.
Spain struggled to live up to their status as pre-game favourites in a low key first half, as neither side could fashion a breakthrough.
The half time withdrawal of Rodri Hernandez threatened to derail Spain but they instantly reacted, as Nico Williams hammered the team in front from Lamine Yamal’s pass.
Spain wasted chances to make it 2-0 and the contest looked set for extra time after Cole Palmer came off the bench to equalise for England in the closing stages.
However, there was to be one final twist, as Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal stabbed home from close range to trigger wild scenes of celebration in the Olympiastadion.
