AS Roma have confirmed the signing of Artem Dovbyk from Girona, last season’s Pichichi. MD say the final fee is around €40m.
Dovbyk arrived from Dnipro-1 for €7.75m last summer, and promptly started scoring goals for the Catalan side, with his 24 strikes and 10 assists firing them to their best ever finish in third. The deal will be around €34m plus €4-5m in variables, of which Dnipro-1 will receive 20%.

Roma have also agreed to a 10% sell-on fee clause for the Catalans too, who lose their chief goal threat. Dovbyk signed a deal worth €3.5m per year, and has committed to the Roman entity for the next five years.
In theory Girona already have a replacement, having secured the signature of Abel Ruiz from Braga early on in the transfer window. He will compete with Cristhian Stuani for minutes, but it remains to be seen if they move for another forward now ahead of their debut Champions League campaign.
