Atletico Madrid must challenge for titles this season according to new signing of Robin Le Normand.
Ahead of the new campaign kick off, Le Normand gave his first interview as a Los Rojiblancos player following a summer switch from rivals Real Sociedad.
An agreement was reached last month, but with Le Normand still away on his post Euro 2024 holiday, the deal was delayed.
The centre back has been eased into preseason, and his competitive debut date is unknown, as Diego Simeone assesses his squad options.
However, after making the move from the Basque Country to Madrid, Le Normand is clear on what he wants to achieve, on the back of an international trophy with Spain in July.
“I always want to win. When you win something, you get hungrier for more. We have an incredible group with very good players, we have to fight for titles this season”, as per quotes from Marca.
With the squad jetting off for their final preseason matches this week, in Hong Kong and Sweden, Le Normand was omitted by Simeone, as he stays in Madrid to work on his fitness.
There is a chance he could play a role in Atletico Madrid’s opening game of the La Liga season at Villarreal on August 19.
