Real Madrid have already announced two deals that will be completed this summer, those being for Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe. A third, also for a striker, could be forthcoming, that being for Joselu Mato, who is currently projected to return to parent club Espanyol after Euro 2024.
Joselu had a very impressive 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals across all competitions – despite barely featuring as a starter. Real Madrid bosses have been incredibly pleased with the 34-year-old, and as reported by Relevo, they want to sign him on a permanent basis.
Real Madrid can sign Joselu for €1.5m, as per the buy clause in their loan agreement with Espanyol. Carlo Ancelotti has been urged to give the green light for the deal to take place, and the positive he has given is positive, as he understands that Joselu offers a different profile to anything he already has, and will have for next season.
Joselu would be delighted to stay at Real Madrid, despite the fact that his playing time will be limited even further with the arrivals of Mbappe and Endrick. It would surely be a no-brainer for a deal to be closed in the coming weeks.
