Real Madrid play their first home match of the 2024-25 season on Sunday, as they host Real Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will be aiming to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing opening weekend draw against Mallorca, and they are huge favourites to do so.
Valladolid will arrive in the Spanish capital with confidence, having won their opening match against Espanyol. Paulo Pezzolano is projected to name the same team that started at the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla, and for the second successive second matchday, he will be unable to call upon summer signing Juanmi Latasa.
Latasa joined Valladolid from Real Madrid earlier this month. Marca have reported that he has yet to be registered with La Liga, meaning that he cannot play any part against his former club on Sunday.
It’s disappointing for Latasa and Pezzolano that the 24-year-old cannot feature. Valladolid will be hoping to have him available on Wednesday when they host Leganes, although it’s yet to determined whether that will be possible.
