Real Madrid have parted ways with several young players in the first few weeks of the summer transfer window, including the likes of Rafa Marin, Peter Federico and Alex Jimenez. More are expected to follow, and of those that appears to be high on the exit list is Nico Paz.
Paz was on the cusp of the first team last season, and he even scored against Napoli during the Champions League group stages. However, he’s not expected to earn a permanent call-up to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, and this has pushed him towards the exit door.
According to Diario AS, Paz would like to join Leganes if he is to leave Real Madrid this summer. His representatives have conveyed this message to the newly-promoted La Liga side, although for now, they are not thinking about signing him because they have other priorities to address first.
It remains to be seen how Paz’s situation plays out over the coming weeks. He’d one of the brightest in Real Madrid’s La Fabrica academy, and he’s probably capable of making the step up to La Liga, although it’s unlikely to happen at his current club.
