Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti declared on Tuesday evening that they would not be making any more signings this summer, despite missing out on Leny Yoro to Manchester United. It looks as if Aurelien Tchouameni and Jesus Vallejo will fill the minutes he was projected to have.
Much of the reporting on the matter is that Los Blancos will only go back into the market if something falls into their lap, but they have sounded out the market of central defenders. Following rumours that Aymeric Laporte was offered to Real Madrid, agent Tulio Tinzi has revaled to Sky Sport Italia (via MD) that they also enquired about his client Alessandro Bastoni.
They were told that he is not for sale by Inter, who want to retain the 25-year-old Italy international. Bastoni has been a key part of the Nerazzurri’s Champions League run last season, and a second Scudetto in three years under Simone Inzaghi this season. Most of the players Real Madrid tend to go for these days tend to be much younger though, although this is a slightly unplanned situation.
Even though of losing Leny Yoro at Manchester United, Bastoni should be one right person in the defence as Alaba is still recovering from injury.
