Real Madrid are always on the hunt for the world’s best players, and if the opportunity arises for a cut-price deal, then Los Blancos are even more interested. That could be the case for Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.
The 21-year-old is out of contract in 2026, and Bayern will be desperate to ensure they lock him up before next summer, when they would face a choice between selling him at a knock-down price, losing him for a free a year down the line, or likely being pushed into a corner on his wage demands.
That is where Bayern find themselves currently with Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies, with the latter thought to be heading to Los Blancos next summer. However Christian Falk has told Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that if Real Madrid do get that deal over the line, and Bayern also lose Kimmich, it could put them in a good position to sign Musiala.
The young Germany star wants what Jude Bellingham has at Real Madrid – a team that can win the Champions League every year. If Bayern lose more stars and do not strengthen sufficiently, then Musiala will likely look for an exit, be it to England where he grew up, or perhaps the Spanish capital.
In the past, it’s been said that Musiala and Bellingham’s friendship could play a role in a future deal. Recent months have seen Real Madrid more closely linked with his Germany teammate Florian Wirtz, who performs a similar function, but Bayern too will be one of their competitors for Wirtz.
