Vitor Roque has made a promising start to his Real Betis loan spell, but he has now suffered his first setback in the form of an ankle injury.
As per Diario AS, Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed this during his press conference on Wednesday. Roque has been excluded from the matchday squad that will face Las Palmas on Thursday, and for now, it is yet to be determined when he will be able to return.
“He had a strong blow to his ankle in the last game. Yesterday he already had greater pain, and the medical team are examining what injury it is.”

Betis will be keen to avoid having Roque unavailable for too long, although Pellegrini does have sufficient cover in attack because of Cedric Bakambu’s recent return from a five-month injury lay-off. He, Chimy Avila and Aitor Ruibal are the leading candidates to benefit from Roque’s absence.
