Real Betis are still trying to find the final pieces of their defensive puzzle: two new centre-backs. German Pezzella’s return to Argentina has left another hole in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad that was already present, and it needs to be filled before the summer transfer window closes.
Betis been pursuing Internacional’s Vitao for several weeks, but with little progress being made, they’ve now turned their attention to another Brazilian: Natan. As per ABC (via MD), talks are already underway with Napoli over a deal for the 23-year-old, who does not feature in Antonio Conte’s plans for the 2024-25 season.
A season-long loan has been proposed, and if Napoli oblige, Natan could be the second centre-back to make the move to the Benito Villamarin this summer – after Diego Llorente.
Betis are determined to sign the two central defenders needed for Pellegrini’s squad. Natan and Vitao would be solid additions, while they’re also interested in Club America’s Sebastian Caceres. It remains to be seen who ends up joining before the end of the summer.
