Real Betis are set for a very busy run-up to the summer transfer window deadline. Nabil Fekir’s impending move to the UAE has opened the door for Dani Ceballos and Giovani Lo Celso to be signed, although neither deal is straightforward. On top of this, there is a desire to sign Alvaro Valles, but he will only be signed if Rui Silva is moved on first.
Valles – who was rejected multiple offers as his desire is to return to Betis – is set to be sidelined by Las Palmas for the entire season if he stays, but does not sign a new contract. They would accept €6m to close a sale, so Los Verdiblancos know their price for the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
A move for Valles had looked likely as Silva was wanted by Benfica. However, ED have reported that the Portuguese side are no longer interested in a deal, and have subsequently ended their interest.
It means that Betis are left scrambling to find another destination for Silva. If one cannot be found, he will stay in Andalusia and Valles will remain in Gran Canaria.
