Barcelona defender Sergino Dest will not leave the club this summer as he recovers from a knee injury.
Dest has enjoyed a superb campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven as they secured the Dutch Eredivisie title last month.
The USA international looked certain to leave Catalonia ahead of next season, with his first team chances still limited at Barcelona, and the club are happy to sell him.
Dest has not made a senior Barcelona appearance since 2022 and both parties were ready to part ways to allow the 23-year-old to move on with his career.
However, a freak training ground injury has wrecked the deal, with Dest expected to be out of action until the start of 2025.
As per the latest from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, PSV have now opted against activating their €10m purchase clause on the defender.
