Former Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez is on the verge of joining Premier League side West Ham United.
The Hammers are looking to complete a string of transfer deals before the start of the new domestic campaign with German star Niclas Fullkrug also on their agenda.
As part of a wider transfer strategy, Rodriguez is an option to add experience and versatility to the midfield, with talks advanced over his future.
As per the latest update from the London Evening Standard, he will complete a medical in the coming days, with a three year deal on the table at the London Stadium.
Rodriguez is training alone in Spain, following his contract expiry at Real Betis, after his return from winning the Copa America with Argentina last month.
He leaves Spain on the back of five seasons in Andalucia, including a Copa del Rey title win in 2022, with 173 appearances in all competitions for Los Verdiblancos.
I hate to see Guido leave, seeing we need him. I wish we could get rid of Héctor Bellerín who has to be one of the least skilled players on the team and a liability and outright weak link in the defense.
