Barcelona are unable to make more signings as it stands, as they would be unable to register them with La Liga due to their salary limit situation. However the Blaugrana are still trying to make one or two final moves in the transfer market, but it does not look easy.
It had been thought that the only real avenue to further signings was signing a new sponsorship deal with Nike, including a large signing bonus, which would increase their salary limit. However both Marca and MD are reporting that the Nike deal is highly unlikely to be done before the end of the transfer window, and could be announced in September.

The Catalan giants have not yet given up on the idea of making more signings though. A midfielder to replace Marc Bernal is now on the table after the 17-year-old was injured, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah is a €20m target at centre-back, who had been highlighted as a priority for Hansi Flick before Bernal’s injury.
It looks as if they will seriously consider a bank guarantee from the board of directors in order to get a final deal over the line, although it is not yet clear how much this would be. It would allow President Joan Laporta and company to put up a set amount of money temporarily on the proviso that it is covered within the season, otherwise those involved will become personally liable for the money. The desperation for moves in the market could also see Barcelona open the door to a potential €15m deal with Girona for Eric Garcia.
