Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest deals dominating the papers in Spain, as revealed in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing.
HUGE twist in Ronald Araujo saga
What I can say is that right now, there’s no negotiations ongoing. His agents and Bayern Munich spoke and negotiated a lot during the month of January, that much is true.
But an important issue is the manager of Bayern Munich next season. I know that Julian Nagelsmann, who was one of the candidates to take over but has renewed his deal with Germany, loved Ronald Araujo. This could impact matters.
Bayern will have a a huge budget for signings for this summer, but the talks between Bayern and Araujo are from months ago. It remains the case that Araujo still hasn’t reached an agreement over a new contract with Barcelona, but we shall have to wait to see how it plays out in the coming months.
Nagelsmann was a big reason that the deal could have happened though, and he wanted Araujo, but now it could depend on who the next Bayern coach is.
Arda Guler targeted by Real Betis and Sevilla for loan deal
As we’ve been saying, the logical solution is that he leaves in order to have continuity. They still haven’t spoken in an official sense, and no decision has been taken, but Carlo Ancelotti’s staff have advised him to go on loan.
The club knows he has a lot of talent, but he has to play, and to have minutes, and they know that too. Right now, it’s most likely that he leaves on loan.
It’s true that they would like him to go to a Champions League side. They are looking for a side that can compete in the Champions League so that he can gain that experience in Europe. But there are lots of teams that want Arda Guler on loan, in Spain and abroad, but no side is more advanced with it than any other right now. There is a flood of offers for him though.
Atletico Madrid’s hunt for central defenders
Right now, there’s no player that they are further down the line with than any other, it’s mostly just enquiries so far rather than negotiations.
Olmypique Marseille defender Leonardo Balerdi is a player they like, and so do a number of clubs, but he could yet renew with Marseille.
Regarding Jean-Clair Todibo, there is nothing advanced. Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie looks a difficult deal to do, his price tag is likely to be around €40m to get him, so it’s hard for that to happen.
No doubt Atletico Madrid are souding out defenders for next season, because Mario Hermoso will leave, if a decent offer for Stefan Savic arrives, he will go too, but none of their options are advanced right now.
Real Betis’ Guido Rodriguez offered to Barcelona and Napoli
Guido Rodriguez has been offered to a number of clubs, and Barcelona are among those. He is a profile that they like, and they are keeping an eye on it. With Napoli, they have denied to me that there are advanced negotiations underway with him. They say that right now, he is not a priority for Napoli.
Arda must play, a loan will do him good.
Hahaha bribELona cant afford Rodriguez
