Throughout the summer, Mallorca have been linked with signing Mats Hummels. The veteran defender is currently a free agent after his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired on the 30th of June.
Hummels would be a remarkable signing for Mallorca, and he’d be added to a defence that stifled the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo Goes on Sunday.
Mallorca’s chances of signing Hummels appear to be rather good at this stage. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenburg, the 35-year-old has arrived in Palma to hold talks with the club over a possible contract offer.

At this stage, Mallorca are currently favourites to sign Hummels. However, they will be aware that other clubs, including Brighton and Hove Albion, are also pursuing the German centre-back. If they are to seal an agreement, they may need to move quickly to avoid being trumped by clubs that can offer more lucrative packages.
