Levante have announced their sixth signing of the summer with the acquisition of defender Christian Lell from Hertha Berlin.
The German arrives on a free transfer and will sign a one-year deal at the Ciutat de Valencia with an option for a further 12 months, having been brought in to replace veteran Javi Venta, who has joined Villarreal.
Lell is a former Bayern Munich player who has won the Bundesliga with the Bavarian club and said on arrival in Valencia that he is delighted to be linking up with Levante, who have qualified for European competition for the first time this season.
“I feel very happy to be here. I think this is going to be a good experience for me,” Lell told levante-emv.com, while also insisting he cannot wait to get started.
“I am looking forward to getting to know my new colleagues, the supports and the stadium. I want to get to know this club.”
The 27-year-old is part of boss Juan Ignacio Martinez’s plan to have two players available in each position and will compete with Pedro Lopez for the right-back spot.
