Oli McBurnie

La Liga Transfer Round-Up: Oli McBurnie to arrive in Spain and Guido Rodriguez future uncertain

A recap of some of the deals – and potential deals – from around La Liga lately, with plenty going on.

Alaves

Alaves have moved to replace outgoing left-back Javi Lopez, who has joined Real Sociedad, and brought in Manu Sanchez. He joins on loan for a season, after making 28 appearances and giving five assists for Celta Vigo last year.

Las Palmas

After a season in which they struggled for a consistent striker, Canarias7 report that Oli McBurnie will sign a three-year deal with the islanders. He arrives on a free from Sheffield United, having completed his five-year deal that he signed after a €19m move.

Last season he scored six goals and gave three assists, averaging a goal contribution every 151 minutes in his 23 appearances as an impact player. The same report claims that Mcburnie has turned down offers that would have tripled his wages in Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

Real Betis

After Barcelona pulled out of a move for Guido Rodriguez, it has left him at a loose end this summer as a free agent. Following talk that he was in talks over a return to Real Betis, Sporting Director Manu Fajardo told Diario AS that they were not speaking with the World Cup-winner, and were not considering the addition of a central midfielder.

Valencia

Valencia signed North Macedonian goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski on a free from Rayo Vallecano this summer, tying him to a two-year deal. However Fabrizio Romano has revealed that while Giorgi Mamardashvili remains at the club, he will have a €3m release clause valid until the end of the transfer window.

Villarreal

Villarreal are in talks to see Ben Brereton Diaz return to England, after his loan spell at Sheffield United. Relevo say that Southampton are discussing a loan with an option to buy for the Chilean international, with Ipswich Town also interested in him. Brereton Diaz, who arrived on a free from Blackburn Rovers, has barely been given a chance at La Ceramica, but looks as if he may make a profit for the Yellow Submarine.
