Barcelona have been linked with Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on a number of occasions in recent months, as the Georgian goes into contract talks with Napoli. The 23-year-old was a revelation last year, but his future is up in the air this summer, despite having three years left on his deal.
The links to Barcelona have been met with some surprise, with Napoli notoriously difficult to deal with, and likely to demand closer to €100m than €50m for his signature. Nevertheless, Sport reference reports in the Italian press that say Napoli would be open to a swap deal for Kvaratskhelia, with Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres potential options. The Catalan daily go on to note that neither of the Barcelona players are willing to leave the club this summer, which would be a major hindrance to any deal.

The general view in Catalonia is that Barcelona’s name is being used by Kvaratskhelia’s agent in order to negotiate a better deal for his client. Kvaratskhelia is on record as a Real Madrid (in particular Guti) fan, and even if he was willing to join the Blaugrana, the chances of them being able to put together a suitable package for a position that isn’t top of their priorities appear minuscule.
