Serie A champions Inter have reportedly taken an interest in Sevilla forward Dodi Lukebakio, who joined last summer for €9m from Hertha Berlin. The 26-year-old Belgian made an impact with his pace in the early stages of the season, but a lengthy injury kept him out for four months, and he has started just once since.
Lukebakio’s pace has attracted Inter’s eye though, as per GdS (via Diario AS), and they could seek to use 22-year-old French midfielder Lucien Agoume as a makeweight in the deal. He has played just 442 minutes since joining on loan in January, albeit he too missed a month of action with a thigh muscle problem. Inter will look to move Agoume on this summer, but Sevilla have no plans to execute their €8m buy option this summer. One of their targets for defensive midfield is Famalicao’s 23-year-old Serbian Mirko Topic.
They will not close the door on any exits this summer though, meaning Lukebakio’s future remains uncertain. Sporting Director Victor Orta looks as if he will try to reduce Sevilla’s wage bill again this summer, while their spending will be limited. With no certainty on either the squad or the manager for next summer, it could be a long one in Nervion.
