Sevilla have finally gotten the signing of Lucien Agoume over the line, after weeks of negotiations. Agoume spent the second half of last season on loan at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, and appears to be a favourite of Sporting Director Victor Orta.
The 21-year-old Frenchman did a decent job in the middle when called upon last season, and Sevilla confirmed that he would be returning permanently on Tuesday morning. ED explain that the deal will be worth €4m for 50% of his rights, and Sevilla will later have the chance to purchase a further 40% of his rights for the same figure. Inter will retain 50% of his rights in the first instance, and 10% in the second.

Agoume is Sevilla’s sixth signing of the transfer window, and a second midfielder after Saul Niguez was loaned to them from Atletico Madrid. Agoume is clearly part of Sevilla’s desire to get younger. It remains to be seen what kind of role new manager Garcia Pimienta sees for him, but it looks likely he will play in front of the defence.
