The summer transfer window does not open in Spain for another month, but Athletic Club have already been making some very exciting moves. Alvaro Djalo will be arriving from Braga, while multiple of their existing players have committed their futures to the Bilbao-based club – the latest to do so is defender Dani Vivian.
Vivian was one of the standout central defenders in La Liga last season, and his form has earned him a call-up to Luis de la Fuente’s preliminary Spain squad for Euro 2024. On Saturday, it was announced that he has signed a new eight-year contract, keeping him at Athletic until 2032.

Athletic Club had already secured contract renewals with goalkeeping duo Unai Simon and Julen Agirrezabala in the last 8 days, and tying down Vivian for the long, long term is another fantastic deal. Ernesto Valverde’s side are certainly going in the right direction, which is incredibly exciting for supporters.
