Atletico Madrid have had a euphoric summer, having secured the signings of Robin Le Normand, Alexander Sorloth, Julian Alvarez and Conor Gallagher. They’re not done yet, as more signings will be made before the transfer window closes next week.
To be exact, two more arrivals will head to the Civitas Metropolitano, as was confirmed by Diego Simeone during his pre-match press conference on Saturday. He also revealed that they are expected to join soon, likely in the next 24 hours.

Clement Lenglet will be one of those, with Atleti having agreed a deal with Barcelona to loan the defender for the 2024-25 season. The second player to arrive will be a new backup goalkeeper, following Horatiu Moldovan’s switch to Serie B side Sassuolo – this was confirmed on Friday.
It remains to be seen who the mystery ‘keeper will be. Atletico Madrid have been linked with the likes of Walter Benitez and Justin Bijlow in recent weeks, but at this stage, it’s hard to say with certainly who will be Jan Oblak’s understudy for this season.
