In recent months, Barcelona have been linked with a move for Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka. The 21-year-old midfielder is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge, but despite this, he has only seen 14 minutes of action since the start of the season.
Barcelona also see Chukwuemeka as a top talent, which is why there are possibilities for a deal to be sought in 2025. As per CaughtOffside, Chelsea would consider letting him go, but only on a permanent basis.
Next summer, Barcelona may end up parting ways with Frenkie de Jong, who is expected to be sold if he does not sign a new contract before the end of the season. An immediate replacement is not necessarily needed, but Chukwuemeka could be someone that is brought in to provide initial competition to the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Marc Casado.
It remains to be seen just how interested Barcelona are in Chukwuemeka – he would be someone that makes a lot of sense, although it will also depend on the asking price that Chelsea set.
