This season, Villarreal were one of the worst teams in La Liga defensively, but it has not stopped, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from impressing across the continent. The Danish goalkeeper was trusted this season despite a series of mistakes last campaign, and it has paid dividends.

The 22-year-old has been subject to enquiries from Chelsea, Wolves and Newcastle United of late, as revealed by Matteo Moretto, but they are not the only sides in England that are keen on him. Several big teams are also admirers, and Atletico Madrid have been keeping an eye on his progress, in case Jan Oblak should leave the club. Jorgensen has a release clause of €40m, but Moretto informs that he could be available for as little as €30-35m should a bid of that size come in.

While it is not necessarily cheap, if Jorgensen turns out to be the long-term solution for a side, then he is young enough to remain at a club for the next decade to 15 years, which would represent major value. Seeing the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga and other young goalkeepers go for major money, Jorgensen remains raw at times, but the potential to turn into a great shot-stopper in undoubtedly there, and the conditions are certainly not prohibitive for a Premier League side.
