For the second successive summer, Celta will bank a massive amount of money from a sale. In 2023, it was Gabri Veiga that left to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli, and on this occasion, it is Jorgen Strand Larsen.
24-year-old Strand Larsen had an strong season with Celta in 2023-24, netting 13 goals in La Liga. Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that local rivals Wolves and Aston Villa had entered the bidding to sign him, and Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the former are firm favourites to win the race, having agreed a fee with the Galicians.

Talks continue over personal terms in order to get the deal done.

Strand Larsen has a €50m release clause, although they were willing to accept any offers at €30m or above. That is the amount that has come in from Wolves, who are now working on agreeing personal terms with the Norwegian international.
Losing Strand Larsen is a blow for Celta, but the money generated from his sale will be absolutely crucial in allowing Claudio Giraldez’s squad to be upgraded this summer.
