Girona captain Aleix Garcia is expected to be at the centre of a transfer battle this summer.
Garcia is set to be included in Spain’s Euro 2024 squad, on the back of a superb campaign for Girona, as they secured a first ever UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
Barcelona are rumoured to be tracking Garcia as an option to boost their midfield next season.
However, a lack of funds and the change in manager at Barcelona has disrupted their plans to push for the 26-year-old, and Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are tracking him.
As per the latest update from German football expert Florian Plettenberg, talks are already underway, with Girona resigned to losing their skipper.

Leverkusen’s ambitious plans for defending their title in 2024/25 mean they are planning to invest heavily in the market and Girona will demand between €15-20m.
Despite Girona and Leverkusen both playing in the Champions League, Garcia is keen to take up the new challenge, and work with former La Roja star Xabi Alonso.
Who could have thought that barcelongo♿️d cataIani🪳ls would be muscled out on yet another target. Well Id never!
It seems like players arent keen on trains to nowhere who extort their own players to lower their rightfully guaranteed by contract wages or let them rot on bench like rotbench.
When targets in money ranges of 20-25 mil turn you down, you are in trouble.
Wonderful, PAHAHAHAHAHAH. What a clown club, by clowns for clowns.
