On Thursday Barcelona released their new home kit for the 2024-25 season, marking their 125th anniversary. However fans will be kept waiting for three months to be able to wear the same one as they see at Montjuic.
The new kit mimics their 1998-1999 split between red and blue, and has the Spotify logo on it, but with no writing. However the kit released for fans to buy online and in shops contains the sponsor logo from the 2023-24 season, with Spotify written below it. Barcelona have not officially addressed this issue, although it is believed to be down to an error on the part of kit manufacturer Nike. As per Marca, the kit with the changed sponsorship logo will not be in shops until October.

It seems remarkable that Barcelona will continue to charge €114.99 for their home kit, despite it not being an exact replica of the one they will wear, while shirts with names on the back cost €184.99. Barcelona are believed to be in negotiations with Nike over a new long-term sponsorship deal, with a major signing bonus, but this will not help the relations that had become strained in recent years. By all accounts, the kits are still flying of the shelf though.
