On Wednesday, Barcelona confirmed the signing of Pau Victor – their first of the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old attacker re-joins on a permanent basis from Girona, having spent last season with Barca Atletic.

This time around, Victor will be in the first team dynamic. He will be with the Barcelona squad that heads to the United States for their annual pre-season tour, meaning that he has the chance to impress head coach Hansi Flick during blockbuster match-ups against Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
As per Sport, Flick will decide after the US tour whether or not to keep Victor in his squad for the upcoming 2024-25 season. If he is not counted on, a loan move will be sought, most likely to another club in La Liga.
Barcelona already have Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Vitor Roque as striker options, so Victor’s chances of staying could be slim. However, there are serious doubts about Roque’s continuity, which does him a chance to remain in Catalonia.
