As we approach the summer, Barcelona’s transfer plans for next summer are becoming a bigger and bigger topic of conversation.
The Blaugrana have to to their best to try and keep up with Real Madrid, but on a vastly reduced budget. One move they’re keen to make is to secure Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal, and according to Mundo Deportivo they think they can make that happen.
The player apparently is only interested in staying put, which helps Barcelona’s cause in negotiations. They want to pay a maximum of €20m for the full back, whose agent is Jorge Mendes.
The Portuguese will have a meeting with Man City’s sporting directors soon to try and arrange the terms that could make Cancelo’s loan permanent.
The player and both clubs want to make it happen – it’s just a question of finances. It may take some juggling, but it seems too convenient for all parties to not happen in the end.
