Barcelona appear to be weighing up a move for a right-back in the final week of the transfer market, despite Joao Cancelo looking as if he will head elsewhere. Almeria’s Marc Pubill has been rumoured to be of interest to the Blaugrana.
Matteo Moretto has revealed to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Barcelona are yet to make an offer for the 21-year-old, even if they have been offered the chance to sign him from Almeria. The consequence of Pubill arriving could well be that talented youngster Hector Fort leaves, although more likely on loan.

The 18-year-old impressed under Xavi Hernandez last season when given the chance, but he did not get so much run under Hansi Flick in preseason. Moretto explains that RCD Mallorca, Alaves and Girona are all interested in Fort, but at the time of their enquiries, they were rejected. Fort is keen to stay at Barcelona, but more than that, at the time of writing, he is under the impression that he is staying, and that is the message he has been given from the club. Clearly, this could change in the next seven days, but it seems an exit for Fort is not imminent at any rate.
