Atletico Madrid have had a very busy summer, having closed the signings of Robin Le Normand, Alexander Sorloth, Julian Alvarez and Conor Gallagher. They won’t be the only arrivals at the Metropolitano, as head coach Diego Simeone confirmed on Saturday that two more players will join his squad before next week’s deadline.
The first of those will be Clement Lenglet. A loan deal has been agreed between Atleti and Barcelona, and according to MD, it will be announced before Los Colchoneros take on Girona on Sunday evening – their first home match of the new season.

Lenglet will arrive as the left-sided central defender that Atletico Madrid have been after all summer. They were unable to afford top target David Hancko, which is why they’ve had to settle for the out-of-favour Barcelona star.
Lenglet’s impending departure is good news for Barcelona, as it will help their efforts to finally register Dani Olmo with La Liga.
