Last week, Samu Omorodion’s move to Chelsea collapsed after the Premier League sides attempting to alter terms that they had previously agreed with the young striker. This has also caused Atletico Madrid to halt the signing of Conor Gallagher, whom they currently cannot afford.
Samu returned to training with Atleti on Tuesday, ahead of next Monday’s La Liga opener against Villarreal. However, the expectation has been that he will not continue beyond the end of the summer, as Los Colchoneros view him as an important money-making method. That could change.
As per Marca, Atleti are willing to keep Samu, as from within, he’s still considered to be a top prospect. His playing time may be reduced because of the arrivals of Alexander Sorloth and Julian Alvarez, although Angel Correa departing would ensure extra opportunities for the Olympic champion.

If Atletico Madrid can close the sale of Joao Felix to Chelsea, it’s likely that they will be able to keep Samu. That would be fantastic business, as the youngster is more than capable of being a crucial player over the coming years.
Good hope to Chelsea
