Atletico Madrid might bring in one more player, that was the message from Diego Simeone on Tuesday, and as the transfer window reaches its culmination, they continue to search for an option that works.
Manchester City’s Matheus Cunha was one of the names suggested, but those links have quietened since. According to MD, Los Rojiblancos requested the loan of Getafe midfielder Luis Milla, but Loz Azulones declined that deal, despite the midfielders desire to join. Diario AS note that before anyone arrives, Atletico are keen to get Thomas Lemar and Javi Galan out the door.
💣🚨 BREAKING: Diego Simeone is PUSHING to bring Sofyan Amrabat on loan to Atlético Madrid. Atleti has him as one of their favorites.
Not an easy deal as Fenerbahçe’s conditions (loan plus mandatory) are better for Fiorentina.

It is not yet clear where the Frenchman would go, but Galan has been offered to Galatasaray and Besiktas. It is another Turkish giant that are currently standing in the way of Diego Simeone’s preferred option in the middle of the pitch though. Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is Simeone’s choice, but Fenerbahce already have a rough agreement on a loan to buy deal with the Italian side. Atletico would only be offering a simple loan deal, and the Viola would much rather a permanent deal.
There is plenty of competition in the middle of the pitch these days for Simeone’s side, with Rodrigo de Paul, Pablo Barrios, Conor Gallagher, Koke Resurreccion and Lemar all competing for a spot in the middle of the pitch. It is not yet clear how many central midfielders will play on a regular basis too.
