Athletic Club have boosted their chances of a European qualification place in 2022 with a 3-1 win over basement side Levante.
The Basque hosts remain in eight place in the La Liga table with Marcelino’s charges now just two points behind seventh place Villarreal after 27 games.
The home side carved out the better early chances, with Inaki Williams and Oihan Sancet both denied, as Alex Berenguer curled an effort against the crossbar.

That dominance continued again after the restart with Mikel Vesga finally stealing in to nod them in front.
With a crucial breakthrough secured, Athletic Club pushed on from there, as Williams raced clear to slot home a superb second.
