Inaki Williams, like Merino, is getting married on Saturday, and Nico has been granted permission by the Spanish Football Federation to attend, meaning that he won’t join the squad until Sunday. His Athletic Club teammates Unai Simon and Dani Vivian will be with La Roja on Saturday, as they were not granted the same permission that the 21-year-old received, as reported by MD.
It will no doubt be disappointing for Simon and Vivian to not attend their friend’s big day, but that is the price to pay for success. If they can make the final 26-man Spain squad that goes to Germany, it will have been worth it.
