Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino is on the agenda at Arsenal, and it looks as if they are the best-placed to sign the Spain star. However there is still work to be done for the Gunners.
As per The Athletic, despite Arsenal reopening talks with Real Sociedad, they are yet to make any headway in their bid for the 27-year-old. Merino is believed to be keen on a return to the Premier League, and Mikel Arteta has told him that he admires his abilities.

President Jokin Aperribay confirmed on Monday evening that Real Sociedad would negotiate with a club if Merino asked them to do so, while also confirming that they were aware that they had offers on the table. after Merino sidestepped an offer from Atletico, and Barcelona cooled their interest though, it seems Arsenal have a free run at Merino. Previous reports have estimated a fee for Merino at €20-30m.
