Two of the younger options being watched are Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras, and Wolves’ loanee Hugo Bueno. The Spaniard, 22, who joined Wolves’ academy in 2019, is currently on loan at Feyenoord and has been impressing in the Eredivisie. His Spain under-21 teammate Marc Pubill of Almeria was already considered in the summer by Barcelona for the right-back spot, and remains on their radar, after they could not muster the funds to bring him in.
Bueno has made 10 appearances this season for the Dutch giants, providing three assists. Meanwhile Carreras is also enjoying a fine breakout season at Benfica, where he has 4 goal contributions in 16 appearances.
