AC Milan show interest in appointing former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez

Since being sacked as Barcelona head coach at the end of last season, Xavi Hernandez has been enjoying some time away from football. During this time, he has been linked with a number of managerial positions, with the most high-profile being Manchester United, who parted ways with Erik ten Hag earlier this week.

Xavi won’t get the Man United job as it’s expected to go to Ruben Amorim, but another top European job could be on his radar. As reported by Barca Reservat, AC Milan have shown interest in appointing Xavi if they were to cut ties with Paulo Fonseca, who is currently under serious pressure at the San Siro.

However, it’s unlikely that Xavi goes for the Milan job if it becomes available. Upon leaving Barcelona, he announced his intention to take a sabbatical year, and he continues to be set on this – he is said to be enjoying his time with his family.
